Two years ago when I first began my journey in to photography as a business and not just a hobby I set out to execute a Styled Shoot. My good friend Elena from Belle Imagery Portraits was in the midst of hosting her very first one and invited me to tag along. I was amazed! Watching her behind the scenes inspired me to begin planning my own. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do and after months and months of thinking I finally knew decided on the concept. 

As a bride to be myself, I know that featuring a woman of color was the highest priority for this styled shoot. Diversity and inclusion in the wedding industry is ever growing and I wanted to highlight more of the couples that are underrepresented in various forms (size, race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation to name a few). From there I decided that I wanted to play off the richness of the color Emerald as green is my favorite color and BOOM! there was my plan.  

As the brilliant Issa Rae stated, we need to work with our colleagues who are in lateral positions to us; not the ones above- so I called on some vendors who are slightly seasoned in the industry to be bring the full vision to life. 

I am so in love with this first shoot and I am so thankful for those who believed and supported this dream of mine. We were so fortunate to even have a mini feature on Souther Noir Weddings Blog.

I recently had the amazing opportunity to second shoot Caroline and Craig's beautiful traditional wedding. Their day was filled with laughter, happy tears, family, and beautiful weather. Their wedding was held at the Westin in Annapolis. The venue was such a beautiful space the Grand Ballroom was gorgeous.  The day was nothing short of amazing.

You're invited: a look into the Invitation suite | Maryland Wedding Photographer

Hi Loves! 

So I am a little less than a year away from my big day (EEEEKKK- so excited) and planning is in full effect!  My fiancé, planner, and myself are working on checking things off our wedding planning timeline and it feels gooooood (yay for a planner *MAJOR KEY ALERT*). Since I'm from New Jersey and so is the majority of my family, it is important for us to get our invitations out with ample time so that those who want to celebrate with us have the option to do so! Choosing an invitation suite has been the most difficult part of our wedding process so far because there a are sooo many beautiful options to choose from. I believe that the invitation is a sneak peek into the glamour of the big day, while also providing some much needed details. The full invitation suite consists of: The formal invitation with the details of who, when, where, day and time; then there is the details card which can contain information about lodging, transportation, directions, weekend festivities or information about the couples registry; then there is the RSVP card which can be simple to note who all is coming or it can expand to include the meal option for the guest.

Rustic Glam Barn Wedding | New York Wedding Photographer

When the love is authentic, the wedding will be too! For Jessica and Benj began to discuss their wedding they knew they wanted their love to be felt and witnessed; they wanted their closest family and friends to share their new journey , and they wanted it done their way. 

Jess and Benj decided on an intimate rustic barn wedding in upstate New York where their wedding was officiated by a close friend. 

This wedding was especially meaningful to me as Jess and I have been friends since our boarding high school days; so to be amongst those there to witness her happily ever after was a complete honor.
