Radiant Jewel tone Wedding at The Liriodendron Mansion | Maryland Wedding Photographer

Two years ago when I first began my journey in to photography as a business and not just a hobby I set out to execute a Styled Shoot. My good friend Elena from Belle Imagery Portraits was in the midst of hosting her very first one and invited me to tag along. I was amazed! Watching her behind the scenes inspired me to begin planning my own. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do and after months and months of thinking I finally knew decided on the concept.

As a bride to be myself, I know that featuring a woman of color was the highest priority for this styled shoot. Diversity and inclusion in the wedding industry is ever growing and I wanted to highlight more of the couples that are underrepresented in various forms (size, race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation to name a few). From there I decided that I wanted to play off the richness of the color Emerald as green is my favorite color and BOOM! there was my plan.

As the brilliant Issa Rae stated, we need to work with our colleagues who are in lateral positions to us; not the ones above- so I called on some vendors who are slightly seasoned in the industry to be bring the full vision to life.

I am so in love with this first shoot and I am so thankful for those who believed and supported this dream of mine. We were so fortunate to even have a mini feature on Souther Noir Weddings Blog.

Huge thank you to all the vendors

Westin Annapolis Wedding | Maryland Wedding Photographer

I recently had the amazing opportunity to second shoot Caroline and Craig's beautiful traditional wedding. Their day was filled with laughter, happy tears, family, and beautiful weather. Their wedding was held at the Westin in Annapolis. The venue was such a beautiful space the Grand Ballroom was gorgeous.  The day was nothing short of amazing.

Here's a few shots from Caroline and Craig's classically romantic wedding day.

Shainna & Marcus | Beautiful Baltimore Elopement

For Shainna and Marcus, their wedding date was no coincidence. The stunning couple chose the date of July 7, 2017 (7-7-17) for the luckiness of the triple 7 and the biblical meaning of completeness and perfection. No luck was needed and their day was nothing short of perfect. The two decided on an intimate courthouse elopement in Baltimore with 7 of their closest family and friends (they were even blessed with additional luck as they received the letter 'G' -7th letter in the alphabet, as their place holder.)

Shainna and Marcus' love story dates back to December 2014 when they were introduced to one another through their separate work colleagues who are married. Marcus, as single father, had seen a group photo that his to be wife was in and was attracted to her instantly; Shainna reciprocated the feeling and began to correspond with Marcus. They courted for some time but the pair officially began dating months later. Shainna and Marcus' courtship began during the 2015 Baltimore Uprising and sparked out of the concern she had for him in the line of duty.  Marcus noticed her loving nature and has been head over heels since then.

Marcus proposed to Shainna immediately after commencement of her Masters Degree from Bowie State University in May of 2016; she was in complete shock!

Blending families - New Jersey Beach wedding

Blending families is never an easy task but with passion, sincerity, and dedication it can make any transition a bit easier. Stewart and Sharonda are now parents of 4 and they decided to honor the beauty of their blended family with a sand ceremony. The couple had a very intimate wedding on a beautiful beach in Ocean Grove, New Jersey with those closest to them.

#WorthTheWait2016- Romantic Washington D.C. Wedding

LaShaunda and Michael were a long time in the making! These two lovebirds have been knowing each other for over 20 years and have been together for about 15 year of those years. The couple had a beautiful wedding and reception at the Carnegie Institution of science with their 2 children, closest friends and family. Their wedding theme was a simple elegant romance with lots of candlelight and bling!
